Stripes this season

i sea stripes blogspot com

“Could  love affair with the stripes this season be toxic?” asks Lynn Philips wrote in the article Crossing the line in Style Magazine last week. For sure it’s quite a promotion for the stripes from generally associated with Breton sailor’s uniform and proletarian machismo to red carpets and cat walks.

As it may be observed in the history of fashion from Coco Chanel to various movies, stripes always indicated some maverick attitude, hint of spice to “all beautiful and shiny” frocks and gowns by famous designers.

Above, favorite fashion and style icon, actress Jeanne Moreau in Jules and Jim,  one of the most romantic and heart-breaking movie ever made.

Edgie Sedgwick, muse of Andy Warhol was sporting her stripes in a typical for sixty black and white Avant-garde way.

And let’s not forget which designer started all stripe-obsession. Thank you Madame Channel for letting women look as glamorous as ever in sailor-inspired pattern.

I love new york in Spring time!

Spring not exactly here yet. However, Agnes B. opened her third store in NYC with a motto: I love new york in Spring time! and fulfilled her dream about the art gallery decorating store space with works of DAN COLEN, HARMONY KORINE, DASH SNOW, KENNETH ANGER and others.

New song for Spring 2011

Really can't wait for new Fleet Foxes' album. And looking through the window in NYC does not really inspire to believe in spring...But May 3 release of the new album, so spring will happen then:)
